KATHMANDU – Lawmakers have demanded the government to ensure the safety of life and property of Nepalis working abroad and to take diplomatic initiatives to bring back the bodies of those who lost their lives there.<\/p>\n
In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), Madhav Sapkota demanded that necessary legal and diplomatic process should be initiated to bring back the body of Sumina Tamang of Bahrabise Municipality-8 of Sindhupalchowk who died in Iraq in course of foreign employment.<\/p>\n
Dr Chanda Karki Bhandari said 15 bodies have been recovered in different parts of the country in the last nine days. She claimed that on an average five people are being killed every three days. This, according to her, shows serious weakness in public security.<\/p>\n
Deepak Bahadur Singh said the country’s economy was getting weaker due to the migration of youths abroad. Krishna Kumar Shrestha said the businessmen of Bara were facing unnecessary sufferings from the district administration. He said that he had raised the issue in the parliament several times for the development of Bara district, but it was not heard.<\/p>\n
He drew the attention of the government through parliament to provide drinking water to the people of Amlekhgunj. Lalbir Chaudhary raised the issue of increasing fear of wild animals in Bardiya district as many people have been killed in wild animals’ attacks, mostly tiger and elephants in the district. He also urged for the management of the buffer zone, demanding appropriate compensation to the affected families.<\/p>\n
Dr Amaresh Kumar Singh said discrimination against Dalits still persists. He also raised the issue of increasing criminal incidents near the illegal stone and sand quarries in Sarlahi. Sita Kumari Rana drew the attention of the parliament to the killing of the national animal cow by the locals of Jagannath Rural Municipality-6 in Bajura. She also raised the issue of smuggling out of cattle towards India and Bangladesh, and the need to check it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
