{"id":2743,"date":"2020-10-07T11:36:29","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T05:51:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=2743"},"modified":"2020-10-07T11:37:50","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T05:52:50","slug":"money-laundering-case-worth-millions-filed-against-gangster-bale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=2743","title":{"rendered":"Money laundering case worth millions filed against gangster \u2018Bale\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KATHMANDU :<\/strong> The Department of Money Laundering Investigation has filed a case against gangster Balaram Sapkota \u2018Bale\u2019 and his wife at the Special Court, accusing them of amassing proceeds of crimes worth Rs 195.5 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DMLI on Monday filed the case worth Rs 174 million against Baley while a separate charge sheet accuses his wife Sirjana Kakshyapati of amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 25.5 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bale, a native of Roshi Rural Municipality-4 of Kavre, had been living in Kathmandu\u2019s Lazimpat. The writ petition demands the confiscation of the house and vehicles under his ownership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DMLI has also sought the court\u2019s order to confiscate his bank balance of Rs 396,000, along with a Volkswagon car worth Rs 4.1 million. According to the Department, it has also found him owning lands in various places in Jhapa without any source of income.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bale had begun operation of the Mechi Crown Hotel in Dhulabari of Jhapa during the lockdown without seeking permission from the local administration.
