I will not resign just because some colleagues want me to. I am ready to face the House. I will step down only if I fail to secure a vote of confidence from Parliament,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He recalled that on September 9 (Bhadra 24) during the Genji youth movement, he had announced his resignation on social media out of concern that assets created by federalism might be damaged because of him. But now, he stated, he is firmly staying in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlighting that the physical damage caused during the two-day protest was far greater than that during the decade-long Maoist insurgency, Chief Minister Singh stressed that the Madhesi people must now unite to protect federalism achieved through their sacrifices. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KATHMANDU &#8211; Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has taken a firm stance that he will not resign from his post under any circumstances.
