{"id":27811,"date":"2026-04-03T22:23:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T16:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=27811"},"modified":"2026-04-03T22:23:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T16:38:23","slug":"two-offices-under-ministry-of-communication-to-be-abolished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=27811","title":{"rendered":"Two Offices Under Ministry of Communication to Be Abolished"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KATHMANDU &#8211; Two offices operating under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology are set to be abolished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision follows recommendations made by a government-formed task force on governance reform and good governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the task force, the Advertisement Board and the Minimum Wage Fixation Committee under the ministry should be dissolved. Information Officer Rabindra Prasad Paudyal said the move is part of implementing the government\u2019s 100-point action plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The task force has suggested that the responsibilities of the Advertisement Board be managed through an electronic system in coordination with the Department of Information and Broadcasting and the Press Council. Currently, the board is chaired by Laxman Humagain, and its leadership positions are politically appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, the duties of the Minimum Wage Fixation Committee\u2014established to determine journalists\u2019 wages\u2014will be transferred to the Department of Information and Broadcasting.
