{"id":27842,"date":"2026-04-05T22:33:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T16:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=27842"},"modified":"2026-04-05T22:33:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T16:48:16","slug":"will-focus-on-lawmaking-newly-elected-speaker-aryal-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=27842","title":{"rendered":"Will focus on lawmaking, newly-elected Speaker Aryal says"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>KATHMANDU &#8211; <\/strong>The newly-elected Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal, has pledged that he will focus on formulating laws and policies that prevent youths of the Gen-Z generation from having to take to the streets in protest again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaker Aryal articulated his commitment while speaking after assuming the office at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Speaker said that the current leadership came into power following the election held in the wake of the Gen-Z Movement (on September 8 and 9 last year) which resulted in significant loss of lives and properties. He reiterated that ensuring such incidents do not recur will be a priority of his tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaker Aryal noted that reconstructing the infrastructure damaged during the Gen-Z Movement does not necessarily require new legislation.
