Mustang – The Nepal-China border security coordination meeting concluded in Lomanthang of Upper Mustang on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The joint border security coordination meeting was held between Zhongba County Public Security Bureau in Tibet, China, and local security officials and representatives from Mustang, Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was attended by an eight-member Chinese delegation from Zhongba County Public Security Bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Nepalese side, the meeting was attended by Chief District Officer Ajita Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police Tzhiring Kippa Lama, Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Forces Bhesh Raj Giri, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CDO Sharma informed that the Nepal\u2013China joint border security meeting held in Lomanthang discussed matters of mutual interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the occasion, verbal discussions were held on topics such as border security of the Korala area, border movement at the Korala checkpoint, and roles in controlling potential crimes, thefts, smuggling and undesirable activities in the border area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also discussed were the matters to make the relationship between local governments and administrations of the two countries more effective in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local security challenges and problems observed in the border area were also discussed by local authorities of both countries, it is stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commitments were made to gradually address the problems and challenges surfaced along the border area through mutual coordination and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is an established practice of annual coordination meetings between Nepal-China’s security officials and local representatives in the northern corridor of Nepal-China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
