{"id":2868,"date":"2020-10-09T15:17:17","date_gmt":"2020-10-09T09:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=2868"},"modified":"2020-10-09T15:17:17","modified_gmt":"2020-10-09T09:32:17","slug":"saarc-level-edu-ministers-experience-sharing-about-teaching-learning-during-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=2868","title":{"rendered":"SAARC-level Edu Ministers\u2019 experience- sharing about teaching\/learning during COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kathmandu: The Ministers for Education from all member countries of the SAARC have convened virtually to share their respective experiences on COVID-19 effects on education in the SAARC region.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the virtual meeting organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SAARC Secretariat on Thursday, the Education Ministers talked about leveraging alternative methods of teaching (also ICT) to continue with teaching learning activities during the pandemic.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to spokesperson at the MoEST, Deepak Sharma, the Education Ministers\u2019 experience-sharing revolves around facilitation for teaching in rural areas, reopening of the educational institutions shut down due to COVID-19, implementation of new academic sessions, development of teaching materials and tools and management of public examinations among others.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel, underscored the need to hold such meetings routinely to forge a unity at a regional level to collectively tackle the challenges faced by the education sector after the outbreak and spread of COVID-19.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the meeting, participants also discussed garnering mutual cooperation and support in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number four on education, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities for all.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also explored possibilities in the production of electronic devices for teaching learning activities in SAARC countries through regional cooperation, informed spokesperson Sharma.<\/span><\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu: The Ministers for Education from all member countries of the SAARC have convened virtually to share their respective experiences on COVID-19 effects on education in the SAARC region.
