{"id":3256,"date":"2020-10-23T15:18:20","date_gmt":"2020-10-23T09:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=3256"},"modified":"2020-10-23T15:18:20","modified_gmt":"2020-10-23T09:33:20","slug":"prime-ministers-dashain-greeting-card-using-old-map-without-limpiyadhura-sparks-outrage-in-social-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=3256","title":{"rendered":"Prime Minister\u2019s Dashain greeting card using old map without Limpiyadhura sparks outrage in social media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KATHMANDU: <\/strong>Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has used in his Dashain greeting card the old emblem of Nepal that does not include Limpiyadhura in the map.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The greeting card released via his Twitter account on Friday using the old emblem which does not include Limpiyadhura in the map has sparked criticism on social media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many have linked the Prime Minister\u2019s use of the old map to his meeting with the Indian foreign intelligence agency RAW Chief Samanta Goel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After India had published its new map in November last year, incorporating the Nepali territories, Nepal had also released its new political map including Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani. The constitution had also been amended to revise the emblem and include those territories in the country\u2019s map.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his greeting card, the Prime Minister used the emblem which includes the old map that does not depict Limpiyadhura.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main opposition party of Nepali Congress has also criticized the Prime Minister\u2019s move.\u00a0 In a tweet, Nepali Congress Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma asked whether the campaign to return the territories has been forgotten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDear Prime Minister, how could we assume that the use of Nepal\u2019s map without Limpiyadhura a simple error?,\u201d he tweeted. \u201cWhether the campaign to return the territories has been laid down under your leadership after the map that was approved by the parliament has itself become unsafe?\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has used in his Dashain greeting card the old emblem of Nepal that does not include Limpiyadhura in the map.
