{"id":336,"date":"2020-08-11T07:52:58","date_gmt":"2020-08-11T02:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=336"},"modified":"2020-08-11T07:52:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-11T02:07:58","slug":"courts-attention-to-growing-anomalies-in-judiciary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=336","title":{"rendered":"Court\u2019s attention to growing anomalies in judiciary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">KATHMANDU- Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has drawn the attention of the Supreme Court to the growing anomalies, politicization and corruption in the judiciary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submitting a 17-point memorandum to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana on Monday, NBA-the umbrella organization of practicing lawyers-demanded the immediate formation of a special mechanism comprising representatives from the association to curb growing corruption, anomalies and role of middlemen in the judiciary sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The memorandum includes demands like resistance and rejection of political interference of all forms including during the appointment of judges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, the NBA also called for considering the suggestion of the association, appointment of judges based on certain conditions and standards and curbing the entry and influence of NGOs and INGOs in the courts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Immediate execution of court verdicts to ensure justice and uniformity on the basis for the postponement of cases in the cause list assigned for hearing are other demands of the NBA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lilamani Paudel, the NBA\u2019s Secretary General, said that the association submitted the memorandum to put pressure on the apex court to carry out overall reform of the judiciary.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KATHMANDU- Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has drawn the attention of the Supreme Court to the growing anomalies, politicization and corruption in the judiciary.
