KATHMANDU: Visiting Vice Minister in the international department of the Communist Party of China, Guo Yezhou, has held a meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.<\/p>\n
The visiting Chinese team led by Vice Minister Yezhou held discussions with Prime Minister Oli on Sunday night for nearly two hours.<\/p>\n
Rajan Bhattarai, the foreign affairs advisor to PM Oli, said that the delegation led by Vice Minister Yezhou paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepal Communist Party.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe [Yezhou] has also shared CCP\u2019s views on Nepal and China relations as well as relations between NCP and CCP. The Chinese side expressed their happiness about the deepening and widening relations between our two countries and two parties based on mutual interest and mutual respect,\u201d said Bhattarai.<\/p>\n

According to Bhattarai, the Chinese side has expressed its thanks to Nepal including NCP for supporting one China policy.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli said that both countries and parties have been enjoying excellent bilateral relations for a long time and furthermore in recent years, both the countries were able to promote and strengthen the bilateral relations into a new height in many areas, according to Bhattarai.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has also mentioned the high level visits made by both the countries have always helped to understand further each other and also contribute in promoting two countries and people level relations. He has reiterated Nepal\u2019s position for one China policy and also assured them about not allowing Nepal\u2019s land to be used against China,\u201d added Bhattarai.<\/p>\n
The Chinese team had also met President Bidya Devi Bhandari separately.<\/p>\n
The Vice Minister-led team is scheduled to meet senior leaders of the rival NCP today. The team will meet Pushpa Kamal Dahal \u2018Prachanda\u2019, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal.<\/p>\n
China has sent the high-level team to Nepal after Prime Minister Oli dissolved the House of Representatives last Sunday.<\/p>\n
The move has not only triggered nationwide protests, but also left the ruling NCP on the verge of a split in less than three years of a merger between erstwhile CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center).<\/p>\n
Many analysts see an active role of China in bringing together the two communist parties and often mediating conflicts between rival factions in the ruling party to keep its unity intact .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
