President of All Nepal Football Association Karma Tshering Sherpa handed the licence to Chief Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa amid a function today here at the army headquarters. A meeting of the AFC Club Licensing Appeals Body on December 22 had decided to provide the licence to the army club.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The army club is first to obtain the AFC licence although the ANFA has directed all &#8216;A&#8217; division clubs of Nepal to go through the process to get it, it has been said. Established in 1954 in Manila, Philippine with its headquarters in Malaysia, altogether 47 countries have been associated with the AFC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the occasion, member-secretary of the National Sports Council Ramesh Kumar Silwal said the army club having got the licence is a success in sports of the entire country.
