{"id":5475,"date":"2021-01-28T16:11:45","date_gmt":"2021-01-28T10:26:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=5475"},"modified":"2021-01-28T16:11:45","modified_gmt":"2021-01-28T10:26:45","slug":"as-polls-dates-draw-nearer-election-commission-summons-both-factions-of-ruling-ncp-for-discussion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=5475","title":{"rendered":"As polls dates draw nearer, Election Commission summons both factions of ruling NCP for discussion\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KATHMANDU:\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Election Commission has summoned both factions of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the dates of midterm election approaches closer, the Election Commission has called both KP Sharma Oli-led faction and Pushpa Kamal Dahal \u2018Prachanda\u2019-led faction for a discussion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raj Kumar Shrestha, the Election Commission\u2019s Spokesperson, said that the Commission has called Oli-led and Prachanda-led factions of the NCP for a discussion on Friday as both factions have been claiming that the party they represent is the legitimate NCP and they should be provided the election symbol of Sun.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier last week, the Election Commission had decided to not give legal recognition to the split of the NCP.
