{"id":6809,"date":"2021-04-02T16:49:45","date_gmt":"2021-04-02T11:04:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=6809"},"modified":"2021-04-02T16:49:45","modified_gmt":"2021-04-02T11:04:45","slug":"madhav-nepal-led-faction-condemns-uml-chairman-olid-decision-to-suspend-leaders-from-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.kathmandupati.com\/?p=6809","title":{"rendered":"Madhav Nepal-led faction condemns UML Chairman Oli\u2019d decision to suspend leaders from party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KATHMANDU &#8211;<\/strong> Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction of the CPN (UML) has condemned the decision of the party to take action against its leaders.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concluding that the action against party\u2019s deputy general secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal and standing committee members Bhim Rawal and Surendra Panday was against the party statute and procedure, the standing committee meeting of the rival faction held today decided to accept such decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier on Thursday, CPN (UML) Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had suspended Bhusal and Panday as general members for six months. They were suspended from the party days after Oli took a similar action against Nepal and another standing committee member Bhim Rawal. Stating that their clarification was not satisfactory, Oli had suspended Nepal and Rawal from the party on March 29.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe meeting has condemned the so-called decision of KP Oli to suspend party deputy general secretary Bhusal and standing committee member Panday that goes against the mandate of ninth general convention, statute and procedure of the party. This is an indication of Oli\u2019s autocratic, totalitarian and arbitrary character. We condemn this,\u201d said Rawal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that Oli, who was elected as the Chairman of the party from 9th General Convention, has already become illegitimate chairman. \u201cArticle 13 of the party&#8217;s statute has a provision that requires the party&#8217;s general convention in five years. He has claimed to be the chairman of the party which is against the statute.
