Kathmandu: The Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) has decided not to open a bank today, citing that the police did not allow its employees to attend office. The association made the decision after the police sent home many of its employees who were on their way to the office.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe bank will not be opened,” Chairman of the Nepal Bankers’ Association Bhuvan Kumar Dahal said. “The police have caused problems for the employees against the government’s decision by arresting some of them, although they have now been released.\u201d<\/p>\n
Similarly, Chairman Dahal informed that local businesses across the countries have closed following the closure of the head office.<\/p>\n
According to Chairman Dahal, an agreement has been made between the three CDOs of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur to open 8 branches of each bank in the Kathmandu Valley.<\/p>\n
Similarly, it had been agreed that the employees would be able to attend office by showing their ID cards to the police. Nepal Rastra Bank has been directed to remain open by implementing required health standards.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Humkala Pandey, Bhaktapur’s CDO, said that she was not aware of the incident. She stated that the police should not prohibit employees with official identity cards from attending office, as it is a matter to be decided by the Nepal Rastra Bank.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
