KATHMANDU- The two chairmen of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP)–KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal \u2018Prachanda\u2019–have held a meeting to discuss the internal disputes within the party. The meeting held at the Prime Minister\u2019s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday also dwelt on the issue of recent appointments made by the government, according to a party source.<\/p>\n
Expressing his dissatisfaction over the recent nominations made by the cabinet for various government positions, NCP Chairman Prachanda proposed to scrap all such appointments after the task force formed to resolve intra-party disputes submits its report, the party source said.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Monday, the government had decided to appoint Durga Bhandari as the Press Council\u2019s Acting Chairperson. However, the Supreme Court on Wednesday kept in place the government decision to remove the Council\u2019s Acting Chairman Kishor Shrestha from his post in order to appoint Bhandari.<\/p>\n
The cabinet had also appointed Kalyan Rokka as the vice chairman of the Youth and Small Entrepreneur Self-Employment Fund (YSEF).<\/p>\n
NCP Chairman Prachanda expressed his dissatisfaction over Prime Minister Oli\u2019s decision to make appointments without first consulting with the party, and proposed to terminate all those appointments, according to the party source.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the chairman duo also discussed the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)\u2019s $500 million grant.<\/p>\n
The cabinet reshuffle agenda was also brought up in the meeting between two chairmen of the party. However, it was not clear what exactly they discussed on the cabinet reshuffle issue.<\/p>\n
