Issuing a statement on Wednesday evening, Federation Chairperson Yogendranath Karmacharya called for the government to immediately reopen the obstructed highways and roads to take passengers to their destinations without hassles in view of the festive times. “Number of passenger-ferrying vehicles would surely increase with the rise in the flow of passengers to and from Kathmandu Valley for festive celebrations. But, it seems the vehicles would face trouble in operating their services with the disruption of main highway and rural roads outside Kathmandu Valley due to incessant rain”, chairperson Karmacharya further said. Likewise, Federation’s general-secretary Saroj Sitaula said opening of pre-booking of tickets for Dashain would see a big trouble inlack of smooth two-way road traffic. The Federation has strongly demanded government take immediate initiatives to ensure smooth operations of two-way traffic in the highways and roads.
