KATHMANDU – The country recorded 815 new cases of coronavirus with five deaths in the last 24 hours. Such number of coronavirus cases was detected in course of conducting 4,434 tests.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 476 people have recovered from the virus during the period. With this, the number of people recovered from the virus has reached 974,295 so far. The recovery rate is 98.2 per cent.
There are now 5,869 active cases of coronavirus in the country. Among them, 5,677 are in home isolation, 192 in institutional isolation, 60 are undergoing treatment in ICU and eight with the support of ventilator.
The number of people died from coronavirus has reached 11,982 so far. Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts have more than 500 active cases of coronavirus. Kathmandu district has now 2,922 active cases of coronavirus, 868 in Lalitpur district and 89 in Bhaktapur district. The infection rate is 17 per cent, according to the Ministry.
