Assuming office on Wednesday, he said he would do his best to develop Lumbini as a smart city. The government recently appointed him as a member secretary of the LDT for a four-year term. Welcoming Shakya, Vice Chairperson of the LDT, Ven. Metteyya Sakyaputta said that the appointment would play an important role in finishing the master plan that began 40 years ago. Information officer at the LDT, Gyanin Rai expressed the hope that services at the LDT would be delivered effectively following the appointment of its member secretary.
