KATHMANDU- At a time when the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is in turmoil, Communist Party of China International Department’s Vice Minister, Guo Yezhou, is coming to Nepal.
He is arriving in Kathmandu on Sunday. According to a source, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi had informed the visit of Vice Minister Yezhou’s Nepal visit during her meeting with senior leaders of the ruling NCP.
The visit of a senior-level Chinese official has been accorded high priority in the ruling NCP that is on the verge of a split after the government dissolved the House of Representatives last week.
During his Nepal visit, Vice Minister Yezhou is expected to meet senior leaders of both factions of the ruling NCP.
Earlier this week, Chinese Ambassador Yanqi had met President Bidya Devi Bhandari, NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal, former House Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara separately.
During her meetings, she had discussed the recent disputes in the ruling NCP.
Chinese Ambassador Yanqi has been playing an active role to resolve the intra party dispute of the ruling NCP.
