KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has invited all political parties to discuss the upcoming midterm election.
According to Raj Kumar Shrestha, the Election Commission Spokesperson, the Election Commission has called an all-party meeting for Sunday.
He said that representatives of all political parties have been invited for a meeting on Sunday to discuss the upcoming election of the House of Representatives.
Earlier on December 20, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had dissolved the House and midterm polls to be held in two phases.
The government has set April 30 and May 10 as midterm election dates.
The decision to dissolve the House has not only been challenged in the Supreme Court but also left the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on the verge of a split.
Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, a rival faction of the NCP and other political parties have launched street protests against the government move.
