He won with 4,140 votes while his rival Chandra Bahadur Khadka of CPN (UML) got 3,612 votes. Pandey was supported by NC, CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samajbadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha. A total of 214 out of 217 votes were cast in the election held today in Ghorahi of Dang district.
