A team led by the Minister on Friday had reached the landslide-hit area to distribute reliefs to the victims. There was no such destruction of the paddy plantation along the local river banks in the course of relief distribution, the secretariat clarified. The secretariat also refuted the conduction of a political programme in the area as the media reports had claimed one occasion. According to the minister’s press coordinator Kiran Bhattarai, the venue for the programme was chosen by the local administration and the respective rural municipality. “We are committed to be additionally sensitive about such things in the days to come while embracing suggestions related to the programme organised in the incident site,” read the statement.
