The workers had been stranded in various places of Bahrain due to COVID-19. According to Nepali Ambassador to Bahrain, Padam Sundas, 145 Nepali migrant workers who were in the country on leave but stranded for a long time due to the halt of international flights, were sent back to Bahrain to resume their jobs. Sundas added that about 1,300 Nepali migrant workers lost their jobs in Bahrain after hotels and restaurants were shut down due to the pandemic. He also informed that the embassy was working out to send Nepalis back home and to Bahrain as per their wish. A large number of Nepali migrant workers were found hoping to return to Nepal, and they will soon be repatriated, according to the ambassador.
