Upon the recommendation of the cabinet, President Bhandari on Friday announced the clemency for 289 inmates including Hemraj Tumbahamphe. These prisoners, who still have their jail term remaining, will be released today from various prisons across the country following the announcement of the clemency. Issuing a statement, the Office of the President said that the remaining jail term of 289 prisoners have been pardoned by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari in accordance to the Article 276 of the Constitution of Nepal.
