गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Bharatpur Lab closed in lack of reagent of PCR test Nepal Bharatpur Lab closed in lack of reagent of PCR test KathmanduPati September 23, 2020 CHITWAN : The Bharatpur COVID-19 Lab operated by Bharatpur Hospital has been closed from Tuesday after reagents of PCR tests ran out of stock. With this, the samples that have been collected in the lab for the test are being sent to Kathmandu. Lab Chief Dr Nitu Adhikari said that the lab stopped carrying out PCR tests after reagents for the same ran out of stock on Monday. Adhikari shared that 325 samples have been sent to the National Public Health Lab in Teku on Tuesday. She further said that they have been searching for the reagent at the Ministry of Health and Population, Public Health Labs as well as other labs. The Chitwan Medical College and BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital have been carrying out PCR tests in the district. However, the Bharatpur Lab has been carrying them out free of cost, having already carried out over 25,000 PCR tests.
