गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Electric minibus launched on long route Nepal Electric minibus launched on long route KathmanduPati September 18, 2020 KATHMANDU : An electric minibus has been brought into operation on the long route for the first time in the country. Shree Bhawalaxmi Investment Company Pvt Ltd launched the electric minibus service, which will provide service from Kathmandu to Manthali of Ramechhap district every day. Former Prime Minister and senior leader of the Nepal Communist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal, inaugurated the service amidst a function today. Two minibuses have headed towards Manthali from Koteshwor today. On the occasion, leader Nepal said that the operation of electric vehicles would help maintain a healthy environment as well as would help the national economy by displacing the imported diesel and petrol. He further said that there will be no problem of electricity consumption in coming days if the power can be utilized for commercial purposes. Stating that it would not be appropriate to impose tax on electric vehicles at a time when most of the countries in the world have given priority to electric vehicles, leader Nepal urged the government to make policy-level arrangement in order to encourage the operation of electric vehicles. NB Green Tech International Pvt Ltd had brought the 20-seat electric mini buses from China.
