Issuing a statement on Saturday, the Nepal Army said that the army personnel from Bajhang succumbed to Covid-19 on Friday while undergoing treatment at Birendra Sainik Hospital in Chhauni in Kathmandu. According to the Directorate of Public Relation and Information of the Nepal Army, the soldier was admitted to the hospital after he showed symptoms of seizure on Tuesday. He died while he was undergoing treatment at the ICU of the hospital on Friday. He tested positive for the Covid-19 on Thursday. With the latest death, the total fatalities linked to Covid-19 complications in the Nepal Army have reached two.According to the Nepal Army, 2,197 army staff have contracted Covid-19 so far. While there are 1,656 active cases, 539 army staff suffering from Covid-19 have already recovered from the coronavirus disease, according to the statement.
