A 62-year-old man of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11 died in the course of his treatment at the COVID-19 ICU of the hospital at 12:20 pm, according to Hospital Director, Dr. Dayaram Lamsal. The man had been admitted to the hospital on September 5 after respiratory complications, and he was confirmed to have the virus on September 7. With this, the number of people who have succumbed to the disease in the course of treatment at hospitals of the district has reached 23. Of the deceased, three were from Chitwan, five from Makawanpur, three from Nawalparasi (East) and one each from Bara, Gorkha and Kailali.
