The central committee meeting scheduled to be held at 1 pm at party office Sanepa is expected to announce additional protest programs. The main opposition party has been protesting against the government decision to dissolve the House of Representatives and set dates for midterm election. Earlier on January 3, the central working committee meeting that started on December 22 was postponed. Only 21 central committee members have delivered their remarks in the central committee meeting. Though Nepali Congress has stood against the House dissolution, the party is divided on whether to launch street protest against the government. Senior Leader Ram Chandra Paudel is for intensifying protest against the government while the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba wants to wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict on the House dissolution case. However, Nepali Congress has been demonstrating against the House dissolution.
