In its circular issued recently, the NCP said that the government decided to dissolve the House and go for midterm election to seek fresh mandate of the people after Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’ tried to capture the party and the government leaderships. The circular states that the House was dissolved as Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction could not wait for four months for the general convention and for the next election for the government. “Prachanda’s intention to capture the party and the government leadership or break the party is mainly responsible for this outcome. As they could not wait for four months for the general convention for the party leadership and for the next election for a fresh mandate to change the Prime Minister, their undemocratic character has played the decisive role,” read the circular. Similarly, the circular also states that Prime Minister Oli had reached Prachand residence Khumaltar to urge him to withdraw his report levelling various charges against party chairman Oli and to move ahead on consensus in the party.
