The cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to conduct polls in the first phase in four provinces and three remaining provinces in the second phase. According to the government spokesperson Parbat Gurung, the cabinet decided to hold elections in Province 2, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim on April 30. Similarly, the government plans to hold elections in Province 1, Bagmati and Karnali on May 10 in the second phase. Under the government plan, the elections will be held in 40 districts in the first phase and remaining 37 districts in the second phase. Earlier on December 20 last year, the government had decided to dissolve the House of Representatives and hold elections in two phases.
