The cabinet meeting held today decided to recommend the President to call the session of both the Lower House and the Upper House at 4 pm on March 7. Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Minister for Education and Science Technology, said that the cabinet meeting decided to send a letter to President Bidya Devi Bhandari recommending her to call the House session beginning at 4 Pm on March 7. Though the cabinet had discussed calling the session of the parliament in its earlier meeting, it had not taken the decision. The decision to commence the parliament is in line with the Supreme Court’s recent verdict to reinstate the House of Representatives and mandamus order to call the House session within 13 days.
