A full-bench led by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Cholendra Shusher JB Rana decided to not grant the permission for the judicial review of the apex court’s earlier verdict. Earlier on Tuesday, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Prachanda had moved to the Supreme Court, seeking judicial review of the apex court’s verdict on March 7 to overturn the decision of the Election Commission to provide the name Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to the merged party and also scrap the unification process between two main Communist parties. Stating that the apex court had crossed the constitutional and legal limit, Prachanda-led CPN (Maoist Center) had asked the Supreme Court to review the verdict of March 7.
