Flights to and from the district could not take place due to the incessant rains throughout the country including in Humla. The private airlines which had been operating regular flights from Nepalgunj and Surkhet even during the prohibitory period suspended the flights due to unfavourable weather. The Simkot Airport Office here said that flights had to be suspended due to the incessant rainfall in the district caused by the monsoon wind that entered Nepal. Meanwhile, the transportation of food grain, construction materials and logistics and daily consumer goods to the district from outside has also stopped with the suspension of flights. This is likely to create shortage of essential goods in the district.RSS Write your comments RELATED NEWS Nepal Home Minister Gurung to visit India for BIMSTEC meeting Rabi, Australian Envoy discuss bilateral cooperation South Korean volunteers join flood recovery efforts in Nepal’s Nuwakot Nepal PM says disaster response continues without compromise Nepali Congress chief presents political report at party convention Flood search halted, reconstruction efforts to accelerate Top Headlines Monsoon is predictable and Nepal’s disaster response should be too1 Nepal “a Buffer State”: Rethinking foreign policy in relative terms2 Promotion Linked to Future Military Leadership: Major General Magar Could Become Army Chief3 When the State Pulls the Trigger, Who Answers ?4 Before the Ballots: How Oli Lost the Political Narrative5 PM Shah pledges Krishnabhir highway reopening within month6 Balen’s Silence Has Invited Curiosity, Confusion, and Concerns7 Nepal’s Political Renaissance: The rise of the RSP, the re-ordering of the old political order and the political path forward8 TRENDING The Role of the Nepalese Army in Strategic Road Projects Nepal Army initiates investigation into case of financial irregularities by Lieutenant Colonel Janmat Karki Hungry people out on streets, but the government nowhere to be seen Namrata is Miss Nepal 2020 Nepal Army opens investigation into case of captains thrashing soldier in Congo Tourism entrepreneurs get crash course in Chinese language Green recovery: An urgency Nepal-India petroleum pipeline saves over a billion rupees in transportation related costs
