On Friday, Prime Minister Balendra Shah convened a meeting of the Constitutional Council for 5:00 p.m. to appoint the Chief Election Commissioner, according to a source. The government had issued an ordinance related to the Constitutional Council on 22 Baisakh 2083. Under the ordinance, the six-member Constitutional Council can make decisions with the presence of three members, including the Prime Minister, which is considered a majority.
