Kathmandu [Nepal], August 25 – Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is holding discussions with representatives of more than two dozen start-ups from the information technology (IT) sector today as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s digital economy.
The discussion scheduled to begin at 11 am at the Ministry of Finance is being organized under the ministry’s ‘Budget Implementation Dialogue Series.’
The meeting will focus on government policies introduced through the budget for the development of the IT sector their effective implementation and initiatives being undertaken by young entrepreneurs.
The participants will also discuss policy and practical measures the government can take to facilitate the growth of Nepal’s IT industry.
Minister Wagle is expected to present the government’s position on policies and programmes introduced to prioritize the IT sector and explain efforts to ensure their implementation.
Representatives of young IT entrepreneurs will share their views on the sector’s potential challenges they face and areas where government support is needed. They will provide both oral and written recommendations on policy and practical facilitation.
The Finance Ministry said the dialogue is intended to help the government directly understand the expectations and concerns of young IT entrepreneurs while making budget implementation more effective.
