The service is designed to deliver early flood warnings and alerts from official government agencies including Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and the Flood Forecasting Division to the public through Google Search and Google Maps. The technology is expected to help people in flood-affected and high-risk areas receive timely warnings and take necessary precautions including moving to safer locations.
