Government declares three districts disaster crisis zones

Kathmandu [Nepal], August 26 – The government has declared disaster-affected local levels and three districts as crisis zones following the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood.

The Cabinet meeting decided to designate the affected areas as disaster crisis zones for three months, government spokesperson Sasmita Pokhrel said.

The government has also decided to declare three districts as crisis-hit districts and carry out all necessary response and recovery measures there.

The Cabinet instructed all ministers to visit the affected areas and assess the needs falling under their respective ministries.

The Bhotekoshi flood has affected several districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, prompting authorities to intensify response efforts.
