गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Breaking ∕ Finance Minister named acting PM as Shah heads to UNGA Breaking Finance Minister named acting PM as Shah heads to UNGA KathmanduPati September 22, 2026 Kathmandu [Nepal], Sept 22 – Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah has assigned Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle the responsibility of acting prime minister during his absence as he travels to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Shah is scheduled to leave for New York at 7 p.m. today to participate in the UN General Assembly. Before his departure, Shah recommended Wagle’s appointment as acting prime minister to President Ram Chandra Paudel. Based on the recommendation, President Paudel appointed Wagle as acting prime minister. Shah is scheduled to address the 81st UN General Assembly on September 24. He is scheduled to return to Nepal on September 26.
