The latest consignment sent on Wednesday includes an 11-member rescue team and 5.5 tonnes of medicines for people affected by the floods, according to Indian officials. India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on X that the aircraft carrying the rescue team and relief supplies had departed for Nepal. The latest assistance follows India’s fourth relief flight which carried 11 tonnes of relief materials and a technical team to Nepal. The assistance comes as rescue and relief operations continue in the Bhotekoshi flood-affected areas where authorities are facing challenges due to extensive damage and difficult terrain.
