गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Breaking ∕ More voices heard inside Trishuli hydropower tunnel Breaking More voices heard inside Trishuli hydropower tunnel KathmanduPati September 04, 2026 Kathmandu [Nepal], September 4 – More people are believed to be trapped inside the tunnel of the Trishuli III ‘A’ hydropower project in Nuwakot after rescuers heard voices following the successful rescue of two workers on Friday morning. The rescue team said voices of other people were heard from inside the tunnel prompting authorities to intensify the search and rescue operation. 30-year-old Sanjay Sah and 45-year-old Kabir Maharjan were rescued alive from the tunnel earlier Friday. A joint team of the Nepali Army and Armed Police Force Nepal brought the two workers safely out of the tunnel. The development has raised hopes that other workers believed to be trapped inside the tunnel could also be rescued. The Home Minister’s Secretariat said the rescue operation was intensified after voices were heard coming from inside the tunnel. Rescue personnel were also entering the tunnel to locate those still trapped. The tunnel has been a focus of a major search and rescue operation since the devastating Bhotekoshi flash flood, which affected several hydropower projects and communities in Nepal.
