Nvidia donates $10 million to Nepal flood victims

Kathmandu [Nepal], September 4 – US multinational technology company Nvidia has donated $10 million to support victims of the devastating floods in Nepal, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle said.

The donation equivalent to more than Rs 1 billion was handed over by Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang for relief efforts for those affected by the floods according to Wagle.

The finance minister described the contribution as an “unprecedented” assistance to Nepal’s flood victims.

Wagle also said that more than Rs 10 billion has now been collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

The contribution from Nvidia comes as Nepal continues relief and recovery efforts following the devastating floods that affected several parts of the country.

The floods caused widespread loss of life and damage to homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure while rescue teams continue efforts to assist affected communities.

The government has been mobilising resources through the disaster relief fund to support rescue, relief and recovery operations in the affected areas.
