China completes 800 billion Yuan investment funding programme

Beijing [China], October 29 – China has completed the allocation of 800 billion yuan (about $119 billion) under its 2026 policy-based financial instruments programme to support major projects and boost investment, three Chinese policy banks said on Wednesday.

The China Development Bank allocated 365 billion yuan supporting projects with total investment of 5.5 trillion yuan. The Export-Import Bank of China allocated 120 billion yuan helping mobilise more than 1.7 trillion yuan in investment while the Agricultural Development Bank of China allocated 315 billion yuan for projects worth around 4.39 trillion yuan.

First launched in 2025 with an allocation of 500 billion yuan the programme prioritises artificial intelligence (AI), the digital economy, consumer infrastructure, transport, energy and urban renewal.

A significant share of the funding has gone to emerging industries. The China Development Bank allocated 179.01 billion yuan to projects in AI, the digital economy, green development, biomedicine and consumption.

The Export-Import Bank supported more than 220 projects in emerging sectors while the Agricultural Development Bank financed nearly 2,000 projects across areas including AI, the low-altitude economy and green development.

The banks also expanded support for private investment with funding directed towards projects involving private capital.
