Kathmandu [Nepal], October 11 – An attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia has killed 12 people and injured 309 others according to the country’s aviation authority.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) released the casualty figures on Sunday morning reporting that the dead included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshis and one national each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.
The injured have been admitted to various hospitals, with some reported to be in critical condition.
The attack also caused damage to airport infrastructure officials said adding that a full assessment was underway.
Airport operations and flights were temporarily suspended for security checks and infrastructure inspections.
The incident follows two separate attacks on the same airport on Thursday, which reportedly killed three Saudi nationals and injured several others. Repeated attacks have raised concerns about airport security and disruptions to air travel.
