Kathmandu: Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has taken 1 wicket in his fourth match in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 cricket.
Lamichhane bowled rather economically this morning as compared to the previous game, taking one wicket in the match against Guinea Amazon Warriors.
Playing from Jamaica’s Talawaj, Lamichhane bowled against Amazon and conceded only 12 runs in a full-quota of four overs. Lamicchane managed to take 5 wickets in 4 games in the ongoing tournament. His team, Jamaica, won the toss and was elected to bowl at the Queens Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago.
Lamichhane bowled his first over in the 10th over of the game and gave only three runs. After bowling his second over in the 12th over, he took a wicket by conceding merely four runs. In the first ball of the over, he took Rutherford’s wicket. Rutherford was caught by Asif Ali while playing at the individual score of 1 run.
In the 14th over, bowling his third over, Lamichhane allowed his opposition to make only 1 run. In the 16th over, he spent four runs while bowling his last over. In today’s match, the opposition players could not hit any fours and sixes in his ball.
Batting first, Guyana hardly managed to score 108 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ross Taylor top-scored for Guyana with 23 runs. Mujib Ur Rehman and Fidel Edward took three wickets each for Jamaica.
Jamaica completed the target of 109 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. Chasing a modest target of 109, Nkrumah Bonner top-scored for Jamaica with 30, followed by Glenn Phillips (26), Jermaine Blackwood (23) and Andre Russell (23). Guyana’s Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets, and Imran Tahir, Ashmead Nedd, and Keemo Paul took one wicket each.
Lamichhane’s team Jamaica Tallawahs has climbed to the fourth position in the CPL points table with the victory. Jamaica has so far added four points after winning two games and losing two.
Similarly, Guyana is in third place after losing today’s game. Guyana has so far added four points, winning two of five games and losing three.
Lamichhane’s team Jamaica will now play its fifth game against Barbados Tridents on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
