Abe, who resigned as the prime minister for health reasons, stated that the old ties between the two countries will further strengthen. “I believe that the long friendship of Nepal-Japan will further develop in the coming days,” Abe wrote in a tweet on Wednesday . Abe thanked Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for wishing him a speedy recovery. Prime Minister Oli had said that Nepal-Japan relations had developed a lot during Abe’s tenure. “Saddened to learn about your ill health. Wish you dear Prime Minister Abe, speedy recovery and good health. Nepal-Japan relations have greatly benefited from your wise and dynamic relationship,” PM Oli wrote in a tweet Abe recently resigned as prime minister due to his health issue. In a statement, he apologized to the people of Japan for not being able to serve the country for the entire term. “Poor health should not lead to wrong political decisions,” he had stated.
