गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Whereabouts of 16 missing in monsoon-induced disasters in Baglung still unknown Nepal Whereabouts of 16 missing in monsoon-induced disasters in Baglung still unknown KathmanduPati September 29, 2020 file photo BAGLUNG : The whereabouts of 16 people missing in landslides and floods during the monsoon are still unknown.Among the 15 who went missing in the flood at Bhuji Khola at Dhorpatan Municipality-9 in Baglung district on September 3, 22 died in the incident. Likewise, a man went missing when a landslide at Baglung Municipality-1 buried a tipper with a driver in it on July 25. Police have ceased the search operation for the missing after they were not found dead or alive even after a month. As many as 38 people have lost their lives in various water-induced disasters this monsoon. Burtibang’s police inspector Prakash Singh Bhandari shared that there are very slim chances of finding the missing ones alive and uninjured. Security personnel had retrieved the dead bodies found in neighbouring Gulmi district too. Information officer at the District Administration Office, Baglung Dhirendraj Panta shared that the process has been forwarded to provide compensation to the bereaved families. The government has provided Rs 200,000 as compensation to the families of those who lost their lives due to the natural disasters. The government adds another Rs 100,000 in the compensation amount if another member of that family has lost their life to the natural disasters.
