Lamichhane, Accompanied by Party Leaders, Set for India Visit

Kathmandu – Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who is set to travel to New Delhi at the invitation of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, will be accompanied by General Secretary and Member of Parliament Bipin Acharya and Member of Parliament Deepak Bohara, and his spouse, Nikita Poudel.

During the visit, Lamichhane is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, among others. He is also expected to visit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters for talks with party leadership.

Lamichhane’s upcoming trip to India carries significant strategic weight, especially given the sudden postponement of Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal’s visit. With official diplomatic channels between the Balen Shah administration and New Delhi currently at a standstill, all eyes are on Lamichhane’s mission. While both the RSP and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs remain tight-lipped regarding the specific agenda, analysts suggest this invitation reflects a calculated move by New Delhi to open direct lines of communication with influential figures within Nepal’s ruling coalition.
