Do Not Rush into Iran Deal- Trump Instructs Negotiators

KATHMANDU – U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he has instructed his negotiators not to rush into a potential deal with Iran.

Through social media, President Trump noted that negotiations are progressing constructively, adding that both sides should take their time to ensure the right decisions are made.

The proposed deal reportedly includes plans for a 60-day extension of a ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and further talks regarding Iran’s nuclear program. On Saturday, Trump had indicated that the agreement was largely settled, leading to speculation that an official announcement could be imminent.

Iranian officials offered similar signals over the weekend. Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that both sides were very close to reaching an agreement.

According to U.S. media reports, the proposed arrangement is not a final resolution but rather an interim understanding. Complex issues, such as the timeline for lifting sanctions on Iran, the release of frozen Iranian funds, and Washington’s demands to limit Iran’s nuclear ambitions, will be addressed in future negotiations.
