At least one person died in the floodwaters while police suspect a second death was weather-related. The National Weather Service warned that isolated heavy rainfall remained possible across the Four Corners region where New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah meet. In Pagosa Springs, Colorado, the San Juan River reached 16.81 feet (5.1 metres) on Sunday flooding downtown streets before receding. The level remained about a foot below the record that nearly destroyed the town in 1911. Floodwaters swept an entire house from its foundation and damaged a road bridge west of the town. Rescue teams including helicopter crews, saved dozens of people while searches continued for those potentially stranded. Officials said evacuation orders remained in place and warned that cleanup and repairs could take weeks. Utah also arranged electronic voting for residents of flood-hit San Juan County.
